Webopedia bills itself as an IT & Computer dictionary site that also does reviews. They have 29,073 keywords ranking for featured snippets. Here’s the system they’re using to target many of these keywords.

The definition articles, like this one targeting the keyword “software”, are straight to the point. You have the table of contents and then the primary heading.

That article gets around 12.9k traffic according to Ahrefs.

The first sentence of the definition usually starts with “keyword + is”, “keyword + are” or some variation of these phrases. The definitions are concise, usually no more than 2-3 sentences.

You can see they use Schema FAQ to target keywords for the featured snippets.
