Borrowing UGC Insights For Blog Posts

Sites that publish User Generated Content (UGC) are a great source of insights for blog content. They’re handy because:

  • You often get expert insights that you don’t find in ranking blog content
  • Those insights rarely show up in the search results because of keyword cannibalization (too much content is published targeting the same term)

To give you an example, we use LinkedIn Pulse to get insights for the marketing blog posts and guest posts we’re creating for clients. It’s a framework you can copy.

Here’s how we do it.

Do a site search on Google: site:linkedin.com/pulse/

Click through a couple of articles and scan-read them to gather useful insights for your briefs.

Find the best UGC sites in your niche and repeat the process to create authoritative blog content.
